We are upgrading several network components over the next couple of months. Some of the upgrades will require brief service interruptions as we switch from the old hardware to the new hardware. We will post planned work days here which may affect access. We always try to minimize outages. Major hardware replacement upgrades could see interruptions up to an hour. Minor changes will see minimum to no interruptions.
Current schedule:
5/28/2009 9am-4PM - Major - S Salem - Re-arrange existing hardware on tower to make space for new hardware. Sites east of Salem will be affected for up to an hour. This should be the only upgrade which requires a large scale service interruption.
Remaining planned items for Summer 2009 - schedule unknown:
1) Aumsville, OR - Minor - Replace old hardware with new hardware
2) Salem east (all sites east of Salem) - Minor - Cutover to new hardware - Outage time approximately 10 minutes. This will be performed during the maintenance window (10PM-6AM)
3) POP site link upgrade (Joseph St) - Minor - Upgrade link - traffic will be rerouted to backup link during upgrade.
4) POP site access point upgrades - Minor - Installation of additional access points at various POPs. This will not interrupt service. |
